Estonian Minister of Finance Annely Akkermann said last week at an ACAMS conference that Estonia has identified more than 1500 cases of Russia-related sanctions violations and that Estonia has noted an increase in the use of cryptocurrency to circumvent sanctions (virtual currency being used to obscure the origin of assets and the counterparty of the transaction).
