US designates former Nairobi Governor & Ecuadorian President for corruption

The US State Department last week designated former-Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko Gidion Mbuvi Kioko and former Ecuadorian President Abdalá Jaime Bucaram Ortiz, Sr. pursuant to Section 7031(c) of the Department of State, Foreign Operations and Related Programs Appropriations Act 2021, for their involvement in “serious corruption”.
