UK amends DRC sanctions regulations

The UK Democratic Republic of the Congo (Sanctions) (EU Exit) (Amendment) Regulations (SI 2021/1041) will enter into force on 7 October 2021. These implement UN Resolution 2582 (2021), which amends the criteria for including people and entities on the UN’s DRC sanctions list to include the “planning, directing, sponsoring or participating in attacks against medical personnel or humanitarian personnel”.
