US laser supplier settles with BIS over exports to China

It has been reported that Photonics Industries, a US-based supplier of lasers, entered into a settlement agreement and was assessed a penalty of  $350,000 ($300,000 suspended) by the US Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) to settle allegations that it committed 5 violations of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) by exporting lasers to China without BIS licences. …
