Li Zhanshu, the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People’s Congress, has announced that the development of sanctions-related legislation will be accelerated. The legislation will cover counter-sanctions, extra-territorial measures, and interference, and aims to enhance “the legal toolbox for coping with challenges and preventing risks” posed by foreign sanctions targeting China.
