US renews Sudan Darfur sanctions & asks UN to lift measures

In November 1997, the US adopted Executive Order (E.O.) 13607, which was later amended by E.O. 13400. The E.O.s declared a national emergency in respect of Sudan, and implemented UN Security Council resolutions targeting the regional conflict in Darfur. President Trump has now extended the national emergency as declared, which renews those sanctions for 1 year. See Notice and Statement. …
