Yesterday (29 August), the UN Security Council renewed its Mali sanctions (travel ban and asset freeze) until 31 August 2020 by adopting Resolution 2484 (2019).
The first Mali sanctions were imposed in December 2018 (see post) and July 2019 (see post); a total of 8 individuals are now listed. The mandate of the panel of experts overseeing the sanctions regime has also been extended until 30 September 2020. UN Press Release.
