Mastercard suspends services to 2 Venezuelan banks

US-based Mastercard has suspended its services to 2 Venezuelan banks following wide-ranging sanctions imposed against the Venezuelan government (see post) and Central Bank (see post).  The banks are: The Bank of the National Bolivarian Armed Forces of Venezuela and the Agricultural Bank of Venezuela. Mastercard had been granted a licence (General Licence 15B) in August 2019 authorising transactions with the majority of Venezuelan banks until March 2020.
