US renews sanctions on Lebanon for 1 year

In 2007, the US adopted Executive Order 13441, which declared a national emergency in respect of Lebanon. The Order imposed asset freezes on persons which (inter alia) undermined “Lebanon’s legitimate and democratically elected government or democratic institutions”.
