US rejects Iran nuclear deal offer

Iran offered to allow enhanced inspections of its nuclear programme, in return for the lifting of US sanctions – Iran would join an additional protocol of the IAEA. Iran’s foreign minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, described the offer as a “substantial move” and added that “There are other substantial moves that can be made”. The US has rejected the offer.
