Jersey sanctions and asset-freezing regulations to come into force

Jersey’s Minister for External Relations, Ian Gorst, has published an order to bring the Sanctions and Asset-Freezing (Jersey) Law 2019 (SAFL) into force on 19 July 2019. These regulations “preserve Jersey’s power to impose EU sanctions”, and allow Jersey to impose the same sanctions as the UK under SAMLA 2018 after the UK leaves the EU. Press release here.
