Bank Mellat settles UK sanctions damages claim

The UK government has settled a claim brought by Iran’s Bank Mellat for £1.25bn in damages arising from the UK’s imposition of nuclear-related sanctions in 2009, which were declared unlawful by the UK Supreme Court in 2013 (see post).
