UN and EU add Taliban group to ISIL and Al-Qaida list

The UN has added the Tariq Gidar Group, a splinter group of Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan, to its ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida sanctions list. As a result, the group is subject to an asset freeze, travel ban and arms embargo under Security Resolution 2368 (2017). See UN Press Release.
