OFAC $5.5m penalty against AppliChem for violating Cuba sanctions

Yesterday (14 February), OFAC announced a $5,512,564 penalty against Germany-based AppliChem GmbH for 304 violations of the Cuban Assets Control Regulations. Between May 2012 and February 2016, AppliChem is alleged to have sold chemical reagents to Cuba on 304 occasions to the value of €2,833,701 (approximately $3,433,495).
