UN to consider sanctions on 6 people and/or arms embargo if situation continues in South Sudan

Yesterday, the UN Security Council adopted UNSC Resolution 2418 (2018), which renews for 45 days (until 15 July 2018) its sanctions (asset freezes and travel bans) in respect of those “blocking peace in South Sudan”. The Resolution also requests the Secretary-General to report by 30 June 2018 whether any fighting has taken place in South Sudan involving parties to the Peace Agreement…...
