EU agrees six-month extension to Russia sectoral sanctions

Yesterday, at an EU summit in Brussels, EU leaders agreed to continue sanctions on Russia for 6 months.  These are the measures that target the financial, energy and defence industries, and are due for renewal again in July 2018. The President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, stated that the EU was “united on [the] roll-over of economic sanctions on Russia” (here).
