The EU has implemented UN Resolution 2374, which allows for sanctions to be imposed on those actively undermining the implementation of Mali’s peace agreement or threatening the country’s peace, security, or stability (see previous blog). Designations will be made by the UN Security Council or its Sanctions Committee on Mali, for actions including attacks against Mali’s institutions and security forces, human rights abuses, and the use of children by armed groups.
