OFAC sanctions North Korean leader Kim Jong Un

OFAC has designated 11 people and 5 entities for their involvement in human rights abuses in North Korea, among them the supreme leader of DPRK (N Korea) Kim Jong Un. They are included as top officials of the North Korean regime, who have engaged in, facilitated, or been responsible for a violation of human rights by North Korean government. Among the newly designated entities, all of which are government departments, are the Ministry of State Security and Ministry of People’s Security, which are said to have been involved in torture, execution, rape, starvation, forced abortions, and infanticide in the detention centres and prison camps that they operate.
