OFAC targets Los Cuinis drug organisation

OFAC has designated 7 Mexican companies with links to the Mexico-based Los Cuinis Drug Trafficking Organisation and its leader Abigael Gonzalez Valencia. The companies have been designated for being owned, controlled, or directed by Gonzalez or 4 other people who have previously been designated in connection with the Los Cuinis organisation. Of the 7 newly designated entities, 4 are agricultural companies, 1 is a tourism company, 1 is a biomedical technology consulting company, and the last operates a parking lot used by other designated entities.

In the Treasury’s press release, Acting Director of OFAC John E Smith stated that the action was “another step in dismantling the Los Cuinis Drug Trafficking Organisation and its prolific business network”.
