UK to have new powers to ban extremist organisations

The UK government has published its Counter-Extremism Strategy, in which it sets out a strategy for dealing with extremism. It proposes (among other things) new powers to ban extremist organisations (in addition to its existing powers to proscribe organisations under the Terrorism Act), restrict the “harmful activities of the most dangerous extremists”, and restrict access to premises that are repeatedly used to support extremism.
