EU economic sanctions on Syrian regime to continue until June 2014

The European Union Council has extended economic sanctions against the Syrian regime until June 1, 2014. The sanctions impose EU wide assets freezes and travel bans on 179 people and 54 entities alleged to be associated with the violent repression in Syria.
