US renews sanctions on transnational criminal organisations

The US has extended the national emergency as declared in Executive Order 13581 (as amended) to renew sanctions with respect to transnational criminal organisations for 1 year. The measures target “increasingly sophisticated and dangerous” organisations, whose activities “have reached such scope and gravity that they threaten the stability of international political and economic systems”. See White House statement.
